Europa Universalis III. I've never heard of the series nor have I seen a game on the shelf of my game retail store. When first starting up, the amount of nations and provinces makes the game seem ridiculously large. After a little while of playing, the fact that it takes a VERY long time for any decisions/events to take place starts to show, it doesn't seem to make any progress unless on the highest speed setting. The map and nation set up is very cool, there are very many diplomatic options and the game honestly plays very much like a turn based strategy. There is only one map, and one game mode. The only options of play that can be changed is basically the time period that the game starts at. However, there are a few mods out that can add some more flavor to the game. All in all, Europa Universalis III isn't the game that will consume your life and eat up your time, but it has a cool concept and a fun single-player experience.
