One of the many games that'll remind you of the good old days!
I picked this game up in late April about a week after the release. I'd played it earlier in Nintendo World a few days before its release. It plays like a normal arcade racer, with super-high jumps, bizarre track elements, tons of shortcuts and things you'd never see in any other racing game. Where else would you find a rail grinding mini-game in which you have to make a sandwich by collecting the scattered parts on that rail?
In ExciteBots: Trick Racing you would!
Another "Excite" title released alongside ExciteBike and ExciteTruck, ExciteBots is more like the previous game in where you also collected stars, altered the terrain, flew through rings and gained massive air to earn a better ranking, as gaining stars was the only way to win, not placing first all the time.
That's what makes ExciteBots unique from other racing games. In the game's online mode, the only possible way to win is gaining more stars than your opponents to take first place and earn a lot of stars for buying purposes, as there are tons of unlockables. This is done by using every Bot trick to your advantage and searching out all the Red, Purple and Yellow bars you can find for maximum points. That's pretty much the objective of the entire game.
It's very fun. The bots all resemble a certain animal species as well as insects. Choose your favorite creature and get ready to rip up the track in this high-speed, racing frenzy they call ExciteBots: Trick Racing!
