It was just one week ago... I was trying to get something that helps me kill time while I am still waiting for some more-popular games to drop price in the second-hand market. Puzzle game is never my favorite type, but for some reason, I just wanted to buy something different from those action, shooting, fighting, or sports games I usually play.

The cover and the name drew my first attention. EXIT, "how simple it is!", I thought, so I grabbed it and tried to learn more from its introduction on the back. Then I found myself a little surprised at my luck because this seemed to be something more than I was looking for. A game that takes your BRAIN-WORK with some ACTION in it! The graphic style also looked unique, reminding me of some old comics (Dick Tracy??? Not sure...), and its colorfulness sparkled like no other games I had seen. Moreover, it was only $15.99 for a NEW one as if nobody wants to play puzzle games these days... With no second thought, I checked out and couldn't wait to go home to try.

Enough words for my prelude.

There are 10 situations in the game and each situation has 10 levels. So, this makes 100 puzzles for you to play. Not enough? Don't worry, way more download-able stages are on the official site and it's very easy to download and play them WITHOUT switching to your web browser. Situation 1 is like a training course, and more elements will be added as you keep playing the following situations. Of course, the difficulty grows and the stage becomes bigger in higher situations or levels, but you may still find yourself stuck in lower stages.

You are Mr. Esc, a life saver who helps people escape from various disasters from within any structure. There are four types of people you will encounter being trapped, and each of them has different usefulness or weakness (Urrrh... actually one of them only has weakness). As you rescue people one by one, you can order them to help you get the rest out of there. Since different type of victims have different pro and cons, you have to really think before you make any move. Besides people, there are also different obstacles or tools in the game, and you also need to consider how to use them carefully. For example, with a rope, you can only descend, but with a ladder you can also climb up, so you have to be sure you don't need to get back up there again. There is also a different time limit for each stage, so remember, THINK FAST, and MOVE FASTER!!! To me, what is often a headache is the weight problem. Not only people, but also obstacles have different weights, so you might need some calculations when you make a plan. BE LOGICAL!

Like I mentioned, the graphic design is simple and comfortable, and the music is also quite energetic. If you want me to say any drawback of this game, I would say the control sometimes pisses me off when I try to give orders to people I just saved. They are sometimes stupid and I have to watch out not to point my cursor to a wrong person or place. It also takes some time at first to get used to controlling Mr. Esc to do the run-and-jump because you need to find enough space and a good timing.

Although I haven't finished all the stages so far (Actually I am currently stuck in 9-7 and begin to think about skipping it first...), I can't wait to recommend this game to everyone who owns a PSP because I think most people have overlooked such an intriguing and sophisticatedly-designed game. I am really glad I found this treasure!!!
