I've got roughly 4 hrs. into the game and it definitely takes getting used to. If you can get the car tuned right.

I've been playing Liverpools version from 06' and just got this one. It's a step up graphically, but handling wise, I don't know if it's better or just more technical. I think tuning your car is very important in this game. I can't do some of the things I do with the 06' version and get away with it. For instance, the front end is very light. Don't think about using your brakes in the middle of a corner, you'll just run wide. With default settings the front end doesn't feel like it has any grip, so I find myself maxing out all the car settings and then adjusting from there. There's definitely a learning curve when it comes to steering the car. Anybody who feels like they're just going to pick up this game and start being competitive better think again. You have to spend time with it, and if you don't have the patience, I wouldn't recommend buying it.
The only other thing that's sort of a letdown is the actual sound of the cars. I don't know how to explain it but they almost sound like small two stroke engines. In the 06' version, the cars sound so much meaner than in this one. They sound like real V8's whilst this new version is void of any, I guess, bass or throatiness, if that's even a word. You can't hear that intake whistle when your on the gas. It's like when they recorded the engines for this game, they did it in a studio where the sound can't bounce off things. Maybe they've got it perfectly realistic but I just think an F1 car that redlines in upwards of 18,000 rpms should blow you away when you hear it. This one sounds like it's sealed in a wooden box. Other than that, I look forward to spending more time mastering this game. Cheers!
