"Though not delivering what it promised to those who closely followed the title, Fable is an overall decent game."
Overall: The game is, overall, a very beautifully made game with various things to do and see. The so-called "consequences" were, however, predetermined as far as the story went, and gave me a nostalgic reminiscence of the old text computer game where it asked you if you wanted to go left or right. The best part of this game, which could have been made ten times better, was your ability to stray from the main storyline, which was shamely much more fulfiling than actually completing the game, and travel around doing evil or good deeds to change your very appearance and the way people reacted towards you. Killing a shopkeeper allowed you to eventually buy the shop yourself and rent it out, earning some extra income, but all in all, for commiting such a deed there are no real long term "consequences" to speak off, other than the guards attacking you until they forget you did it, Which is be a few minutes of "hiding from them". Heck, you could probably beat the game in some 15 hours or less if you just play through the game without fooling around.
Graphics: The graphics are perhaps the best part of this game, unfortunately, as the storyline is predictable and rather boring at times. Beautiful enviorments are waiting to be explored, several suits of armor are waiting to be collected, and various magical spells are anxiously sparkling at your very finger tips in this game.
Storyline: Move along, nothing to see here. As a boy you dream of one day becoming a great hero, or a hardened warrior. Then, one day, you become one and go on a semi epic journey involving...er... Well, there's apple pie in the game, in any case.
Sound: Another saving factor for this game is the sound. Laughing maniacally as you walk around town, eyes glowing red, as you sneer nearby people while they run away, screaming in fear. Strike heroic poses at a nearby tavern and bathe in the multiple praises and compliements the grateful people of the town offer their very hero.
To end this, I would like to say that the game isn't bad in any way, but it is far from what was promised to use, and even farther still from being "perfect". And, oh yeah, see that drunk near the bar tender over there? He's dissing your new haricut and mustache.
