Fable - Too little of a good thing is a bad thing.

When Microsoft told the gaming world that Fable would revolutionize the gaming world most gamers were pretty skeptic. But true to their word Microsoft released Fable for the Xbox. Right away this game exploded with popularity. The only problem that Microsoft had which is the same problem they always seem to have is that they released Fable before the project was completed. So what are the consequences of this action? Well for one the game was way to short. On its own fable was truly an amazing game allowing the player to truly mold the character into whatever the player wanted. You could be completely feared and evil or be a purely angelic and good character. The game was decently easy to get hooked on to. Where the problem of having released the game too soon caught up to Microsoft is the length of the game. Just when you’re starting to develop your character and getting the real hang of it the game is over. Solution; Microsoft released Fable: The lost chapters.

Fable - The lost chapters was released on PC in September of 2005. The game features the same story line as the Xbox original but with about 20-30 hours of extra game play. The added features of this version made it so that PC gamers could easily enjoy the game just as much as Xbox players. On October of 2005 Microsoft made the mistake in releasing Fable the lost chapters for the Xbox. Now, I am not saying the game doesn’t kick ass, but instead of releasing it as an expansion onto fable they released it as the same as the PC game. Xbox players who already owned a copy of Fable, in other words, had a totally useless product that they paid 50$ for.

The PC version is reasonably good on minimum requirements. You’ll need a CPU with a minimum of 1.4 GHz and about 3 GB's of hard drive space. A good video card is a must and you will also need 256 MB of ram.

As far as game play goes, this game is addictive. The game has everything you’d look for a single player RPG like excellent story line, great game concept and of course the fact that you can be a totally good or Sickly Bad character. The extra missions in Fable: the lost chapters make it a worth while game to get BUT it will purely be up to the Xbox players who already have Fable to decide if another $60 is worth it or not.

Overall Fable: the lost chapters is a great game. Added monsters, missions and characters to interact with make the game even better than its Xbox predecessor. Fable will definitely be a game to remember for years to come.
