One of the best RPG's ever.

User Rating: 9 | Fable XBOX
The good: Open world allowing to do almost anything you want - fun - you choose your path.

The bad: the shortest RPG i have ever played - there is more action then Role playing - the AI feels cheap at times.

In fable you start out as a young child. In this game you will have the choice of being either good or evil. For instance really early on in the game you will find a man cheating on his wife and you can either tell the mans wife or just keep it a secret. The game is filled with choices like these such as one time when you find a bully picking on a little kid, now you can either help the bully or you can defend the little kid. It is your choice whether or not you are evil or good. And stuff like that in game really sets it apart from others.

The town you grow up in is eventually burned to ground by bandits and they take your mother with them and the game kinda hints that it was you they were after.
So after the small town is burned a man finds you and takes you to the heroes guild. That is when the game fast forwards to when you are a teenager.
And while you are in the guild you will learn the basic controls in the game and your powers you have.
The combat is what you would find in any other RPG, bow and arrows, melee weapons (swords, axes, giant hammers) and will powers (magic).

And of course no RPG is complete without EXP which you can use to gain will powers, make yourself stronger, and to just increase your skill in combat.
After you are done with your training you can start quests (missions if you dont know what i mean).
The story is actually never revealed to you so it makes what your fighting for kinda hard to explain.

Along the 8-10 hour campaign you will go on a number of quests varying from killing giant wasps haunting a picnic site to battleing a great giant white werewolve like creature. Most quests are pretty easy but some like one where you have to rescue a young boy being held hostage by hobbs (little troll like guys) in a cave. And that is when the Ai begins to feel cheap since there are great numbers of them and no matter what you try it seems that they can always kill you or the little boy before you get out of the cave.
And since you can decide between good and evil there are numerous side quests that are the main decider if you are good or evil. And even not during mission does the game decide if you good or evil. Like since all the houses in the game world all the doors are open during the day so you could just go and steal something but you could get caught and if you do you will have to either pay a fine or try and fight off the guards.

Speaking of money the way you get it is by completeing quests and amount you get only depends on what the person is going to pay for doing that task.
And when you start to turn evil you will know since you will start to grow little horns or anything else that will obvious make you look evil.
being good or evil both have advantages and disadvantages. Such as being evil, people will fear you and run away from cousing less conflict. But, of course that means you are less likely to get married in the game or even have anyone like you at all. being good has the same things since being good will make people like you and you could very easily get married in the game. And yes being good is also bad since bandits will see you as a sucker just waiting to be robbed so you are more likely to have more fights with bad guys.
You can buys lots of weapons, armor, clothing, food, potions and tons of other things to spend your hard eanred money on. You can even buy a house which you must have in order to be married.
The spells can vary from enflame (which creates a cirlce of fire around you harming any enemies who get near you) and ther are other spells some that slow down time, make you stronger for a short time, and some others. out of all the will powers there are really only a few that are usefull.
And if you are becoming evil and just want to become good the easy way you can go to a temple and pay for your evil doings so then you will even again.
And incase you cant tell if you are evil by looking at your character there is a meter in your character menu. Where you can also see your attractiveness, stength, will and skill (bow and arrow).
You can also get tattoos for your character and also give a beard or a different haricut.

The game is also filled with humor as well, such as one time where you meet this man who says he has a very pretty daughter and she was looking for someone like you (your character) so he gives a card with a certan hairstyle on it so you can get that haircut. Then you go back to him and he says still not quite right and he gives you a moustache card, so then you go back to the barber to get that moustache. And still you dont look right so he gives you a beard card and by this time your thinking " what kinda women wants a guy that looks like an idiot?". So you go back to the man and he says well i guess your ready know but after all i dont even have a duaghter and you made yourself look like an idiot!

This is another example of your choice of good and evil.
You can either kill the man or just leave him alone.
Since your nickname starts out as "chicken chaser" you will probably want to change it as soon as possible. But, there are only a few merchants that have those cars saying what your new nickname will be. And you can choose from a varrity of different names like saber, gladitor, and some that will just make sound even weaker then chicken chaser. There are some boss fights throughout the game but most of them are only big trolls that once you learn the technique they become pretty easy to beat.
The games world in seperated into many different sections (at least 20 or more) and in between those areas are loading times which take around 10 seconds to load and each area is not all that big and leaves you wondering why it should have to load at all.

So even thought the story is hard to understand and the campaign last only around 10 hours with lots of things to do this game will easily surpass the 20 hours mark.

The sound is one of the best parts in the game, it has the music you would expect (classical like music) the SFX is very good and so is the acting.

The graphics are very good for an RPG nothing seems to be wrong with them at all the lighting is just right nothing wrong with the textures or anything else.

While it might not be the longest RPG ever it is one of the most fun and entertaining games for the xbox.
