Fable desperately wants to be an epic, but being that the average gamer can complete it within 10 hours, it falls short.

Fable had a lot of hype behind it before release.
Did it live up to it? Heck no.
Although some people are quite peeved about this fact, Fable is still a decent game.

The jist of the story is that your a little boy from Oakvale and the town is raided and your family killed. You're then adopted by the heroes guild.
Which is a guild. For heroes.
They train you and release you into the world to.. Do.. Hero stuff.
Like kill wasps. Wait what? I thought you said I was a hero, not a pest exterminator! Bah.

Anyway, the graphics are great.
The Player Character in particular looks good, as well as some of the NPC Heroes and enviroments.
However, some of the villager models are quite fugly. Same with Bandits.
It's good to see your character change with time as well.
You'll get older. Wrinklier. Hair goes gray.
You'll almost certainly devlop scars all over.
Nice effects. It's weird to see you age while everyone else remains the same though.

Sound effects are also adquet and the musical score excellent.
I'll mark it down a tad for the villager accents, cause while amusing and different at first some of the voices can grate on your nerves afterawhile.

My main complaint stems from the games length.
It's over just when you're starting to get into it.
Which can be between 8 and 15 hours.
The game offers very little replay value aswell, as while you think you might be able to go through the game again as evil, well you can just change alignment at the temples rather easily, making little point to go through it all again.
Fable really wants to be epic, but it isn't.

All in all, Fables a great game.
And I'm definately grabbing my copy of the sequel whenever it comes out, lets just hope it lasts a wee bit longer.
