Well, Ive been through the game 1 1/2 times now, and I dont think the game should be reviewed unless you've played through it all the way. First off, Fable is a really good game. Great sound, music, good gameplay, ect... But, after seeing the game in development for 3-4 years I have to question what happend? The game is rather short, and you are rushed through the last 20%. Most of the cool stuff they talked about is gone, and it really ends up feeling like they spent alot of time on all of those things, ended up cuting them, and then had to rush the game out the door. Without doing all the side stuff, you can probably finish the game in about 8 hours. And there really are not all that many side quests to do....once you finish all of the quests you are left with key searching and, demon door opening for extra items. Some more quest types, and some more mini games/types really would have helped to flush out the game. There are some fun mini games to make some money in the bars, which is nice, but most are not too fun. Some more interaction with the NPCs, and some stuff to do within your marriage would have been great. Also, Im a little dissapointed that the game is really not set up for char classes, you can stick to a single class, but your really limiting your char as you NEED at least some or all of the skills from other classes. In the skill class your fighter needs speed to help swing his weapon, about 5 of the mage spells are really geared to the fighter class, or the rouge/archer classes, so all in all your not going to get the full enjoyment of the game unless you have a healthy does of each of the catagories. Also, the alignment points you recieve for positive/negitive alignment are a little screwed up. You get -5 points for breaking someones barrel outside of thier home, or even hacking down weeds on someones property to get at a chest. And sadly the WORST thing you can do in the game is get a divorce for a WOPING -600 points. The way its set up really defies everythign you know about an RPG...Everything to date has taught us to search every area, chect, and item, but while understandable you get a negitive alignment from it, you can miss out on hair styles, and tatoos if you dont check these areas. Anyway for all those complaits it really is a fun and enjoyable game, just lacking in what we all expected, and needing some more replay value. Peter M is known for making inovative and great games, and Fable does all this, but falls a bit short, I think the sequal will be eveything the fisrt should have been. So while you should definatly check out this game, just dont expect it to be one of those titles that you reminese about in the years to come.
