- Gauntlet system and spell weaving creates unique ways to cast spell
- The clunky interface is removed and replaced with the sanctuary
- Actions now have consequences
- Road to rule adds some RPG elements to the game
- Lots of things to collect such as gold and silver keys, books
- Co-op is greatly improved
- Harder choices to make
- Larger regions and more areas to visit
- Great environment design
- Battle music makes the fight more intense

Cons:
- Sanctuary does not contain any place to view some of the items collected such as ruby and housing appliances
- Some minor lag while interacting with other NPCs
- Some RPG elements had been stripped such as earning experiences and putting augments in weapons
- Less choice of weapons compared to the last game
- Heroes can only carry one type of food at anytime
- Interacting with villagers seem bland with the restriction of expression to a mere button
- The dog still lack real connection with the hero
- Real consequences don't happen till the near end
