Fable 3 will have you walking away feeling dissatisfied and angry about your lost money.
Meet Fable 3! Where everything is essencially the same! Lionhead added some flashy new things such as wings and morphing weapons.
Maps are different and so are the clothing and the way your job bar works.
Essecially the way your job bar works is that instead of pressing A when bar becomes green you have to press a combo of buttons like X,Y, and A.
If I was rating on the controls to interact with an NPC it would be in the negatives. Lionhead did away with their expression wheel and now FORCES emotion expressions upon you. You have no choice if you want to Kiss instead of Hug. What ever happened to freewill?
Combat is once again extremely disappionting. Hadn't we talking about this problem in Fable 2? Yet this dilemma still rears its ugly head. I'm falling alseep here Lionhead. At least change my enemy appearence once and awhile. All there is, is Sand Furies, Hollowmen, Hobbes, Mercinaries, Balveries and occasionally a ghost. How about we have different enemies for different places? Like demons or Golems. How about water sprites? Really where's your creativity?
Fable 3 also did away with their breathtaking cutescenes which had been something I was looking forward to after what I saw in Fable 2. I'm now stuck with a somewhat poorly told story that I have no real attachment to (nor any strong feelings toward)
Graphics of this game are much better. Unlike Fable 2 where your character looked like a mentally retarded crosseyed troll, you actually look like a normal human. Aside from your hair looking like a cardboard hat.
There is no real difficulty when fighting, doing jobs or getting people to like you. The only difficulty was with the decisions that must be made as king or queen and finding every last one of the keys, books and flowers. I actually felt dirty by the end of the game. This is it? Really? Really LH? WTF. I thought the FINAL BOSS was supposed to be hard as hell. IT'S THE FINAL BOSS. You're supposed to die a dozen times before you actually defeat the SOB.
BE WARNED. As Lionhead has become known for, there are many glitches within this game. The most troubling for players in the glitch where you disappear into the ground. Usually this is during co-op. The way that this was fixed by going into another area (a city or whatever). Unfortunatly for some people it has autosaved them in the ground and they are unable to get out of that autosave. There is also a lot of lag during co-op(and occasionally single player).
Now while I'm sitting here complaining about it I will tell you that the game is somewhat entertaining. I'm in love with the violent gnomes who insult me within hearing distance. (however there isn't much comedy or humor put into this game. Mostly lame jokes from my p.o.v.)
You see some things that you might remember from Fable 2.
And I admit the darkness (when you first meet it) is very awesome. That was a job well done.
I feel that the final boss should have been tougher. But the first boss was a little challenging.
I believe LH pumps up your stats too high and therefor battling is less of a challeng.
You almost have it Lionhead. I hope you eventually get it.
