Doesn't live up to its name. (**SPOILERS INSIDE**)

User Rating: 6.5 | Fable III X360
I've always been a fan of Fable, and this was a highly anticipated game for me. I was almost willing to pay full price for it, but glad I didn't. The first thing that annoyed me was the use of potions for magic. I'm mainly a magic user, so this was an inconvenience. The spells that were actually available to be locked in permanently by purchasing them were limited. It seemed like there were more options in the first and second Fables. One cool thing about the spells in this one is that you can combine two at a time. However, you cannot mix it up as much as you could in the previous games - choosing different spells at the five different burst levels (for lack of better terminology). The lack of good magic designing brings me to my next point - weapons. Again, far more options in the other two games. Actually, as I type this, it seems there were less options all around, even clothes. While I don't want the enemies to be impossible to beat, I also don't want the biggest baddest bosses to be incredibly easy, which is what I found in this one. The jobs have a slightly different design, but are no more fun. One thing I did like was the ability to buy and fix up property from viewing the map. I also liked the environment, which is a big selling point for me. However, most disappointing of all is the ending (**SPOILER ALERT**). At about halfway through the game you become king. At this point you start making decisions that will give you your title as ruler or tyrant. If you make the decisions of a fair and just ruler, you lose money that helps build an army against "the darkness" that is coming to attack Albion. If you make the decisions of a tyrant, you'll gain money, but people will hate you. So, at the end is a big battle with "the darkness" which is pretty cool actually. However, once you beat the darkness, you're left to deal with the consequences of your actions. If you ruled as a tyrant, people will survive, but hate you for being such a jerk. If you ruled as a hero, you will doom many to their death because you didn't save enough money, and the remaining people will hate you for it. Not a storybook ending either way you choose. Oh, and as a final note, this is definitely the shortest of the three.
So, a brief recap:
Pros: - Great environment/atmosphere
- Ability to combine spells
- Buy/view/edit properties from map
- Fun last battle
Cons: - Some spells only in potion form
- Lack of weapons and magic
- Incredibly easy enemies/bosses
- Short
- Disappointing ending to what should have been an epic game.
