A well intended role playing game, but grossly oversimplified.

Fable 3 had some good ideas and the story sounded exciting. But in reality, After the first half of the game it gets much less exciting. The combat is oversimplified in my opinion, and upgrading skills and weapons is a hassle as there is only one form of universal EXP which can be an arduous task to get, and on top of that there's no real incentive to do this anyway as there is no real reward other than than a few achievement points. I found myself not really caring about any of the characters, even the dog which is supposed to be a selling point of the game did not capture my interest much. The game also implements a new-to-series ability to touch people or hold their hands while guiding them along. This mechanic is mostly frustrating to me, I can remember several parts of the game where holding another characters hand slowed down my movements while I was trying to get on to the next part. Half of the time that I used this mechanic the other character would simply float along behind my hero, and it felt very glitchy. I felt that fable 3 lost most of the original appeal of the series, but it's still entertaining if you need to fill a gap between some better games.
