Yet again review what I reviewed. This review is my honest opinion and IT WILL INCLUDE SPOILERS! You have been warned!
Here is same review in my blog, with better quality: http://www.elvenblog.net/2011/05/fable-iii-review.html
Intro
----------------------
When I first put my hands into Fable III, then Intro was really boring. I didn't have such a excitement as I normally would get. It was probably because of the epic games like Mass effect 2 start or Dragon Age 1/2 start. But I am glad that I didn't stop. Well, it would have been weird to stop anyway. So here are all my thoughts regarding Fable 3! Full epic review before consulting anyone. Else someone might make me think differently about something!
Story
----------------------
If i watch all other category, this category might be the most important one and most well made one. The story started with choice of being King or Queen. There started first sad part. You never could choose name for your hero. Maybe it was planned so for future games, but it still would be cool to choose my character name. It had voice, but no name. So, when-ever my character talked, instead of Hero, king or Queen would be Elven.
Example – Elven: „Oh my gawd. You are hot džick!"
Going forward came next choice. I had to choose between my love or some kind of bandit. I must say that Lionhead studios made it very well. Obviously I would have chosen my love, but because of my idiotic thoughts, I chose to save bandit life. Why? I thought I would get some kind of epic advantage. But nothing much like that. And the most funniest part was that after I realised how ugly all the women in Albion are, I started really missing mah woman. So if I will go second playthrough, not sure when, maybe in summer, then I will definitely choose mah woman. Then I started gathering allies and I had to do some boring stuff, but then the story went more fun. I had some really idiotic laugh moments, some idiotic fights and i met some really idiotic characters. So I skip all the story to my favourite part. The epic underground dark temple. It was just so well made, I screamed with quiet voice (It was 1 AM cheese!) "Holy Cow!". The underground was soo well made and the acting by Walter was so good, that I wanted to hug him. That was when Walter became really dear to me.
And then the end was frikin sad. It was real surprise and I thought that when Walter recovered, nothing would happen against him.
Sad part about story was, whenever something happened with walter or someone else, I thought "WHAT THE HECK? WHY I AM JUST STANDING THERE? GO STOP OR HELP SOMETHING!!! DO SOMETHING!" – with quiet voice yet again. It was really irritating to see how some monster came in cinematic stared his target half minute and then maybe took control over it. And when he took control over it, then my king acting, but oh nooo, it was too late. It really irritated me, it was like "Omg, why the **** you stand there while Walter gets killed?!" But putting that small thing besides it was reallllllllllly good story, especially ending.
I loved and hated that part when I was king. I had to make difficult choices and after knowing what will come near future, It took long time to decide. My country treasury was very very low and I had to save kingdom. So did I have to break promises to survive with country? No. I kept all promises, got diamond in mission, put that into my budget, bought all houses in Albion, went afk 1+ hour, came back, did side missions and got 8 millions. Put that all into treasure and there we go, we can save now whole kingdom.
Soooo, is there any decisions I regret besides the first choice? Yes! I took down the drinking limit! I should have blocked it. After that every person in town was drunk and coughs out his ****
One bad thing thought. Ending monster was real disappointment!
So, story is 8.5 out of 10!
Gameplay
----------------------
It is something to whine about. It had loads of minuses and plusses. I really loved magic, because I could area damage spell it and just kill all enemies. I used gun only when I had to kill barriers for explosions and my sword because it was cheapest upgrade I would get. But that only when only few opponents were left.
Gameplay itself was nice, but it had serious bugs, like terrain one. For example there was treasure behind place where I couldn't access, but my dog could.
The love thingy was really bad. I had to dance with person twice, do small side mission, dance him twice again, take him date, marry and get children. Is that all? Seriously? The worst was that, twice when I had to take my darling to date, ****ing wolves or mercenaries jumped out and killed my wife. I was like "OU MAI GAAD! This was only sexy woman I found in whole Albion and you just kill him on my date? It really irritated me. In other words, family system was really poor and badly made. I would have wanted to have more options with my family, I would want it would take more effort and most important. I would wanted to see some nice women as well. Almost all were ugly.
One more thing what was little annoyance, was that missions were no challenge. I couldn't find from most of the missions challenge. They were over and over again and boring.. Some missions were cool indeed, especially the mansion one, but else most missions were just boring and over and over again. I don't remember how many times I got offered by soldier to find one criminal and drag him into him.
Then there wasn't such function called 'walk'. Sometimes when you held hands, It had it, but then it was too slow. But mostly why there isn't walk? Dude, my mate is walking in front of me and I have to run, then stop. Run, then stop. I cannot concentrate what he is talking about this way.
Gotta love the esc. Used it many times. You can use it even in the middle of battle, when you need to take break or something.
The clothing customization was pretty nice too. I could make up pretty nice set for myself.
The talking with people were poor, really poor system. Only hot woman after the one I let execute, was damn resistance leader, and I couldn't romance her :(. There were many bad stuff about gameplay, so score is only 5.5 out of 10!
Music
----------------------
Fable III music was pretty nice. Could be better, but it was nice. One music was sadly used over and over again, but it wasn't disturbing.
So I don't have much more to say.
Music is 7/10.
Graphics
----------------------
For me, graphics were good. For many others – no good. Why good for me? It ran perfectly for my **** computer. But for others? It should have been way better, considering what time is now and how other game graphics are.
But I must say, that there was graphic customization button, so I am happy in the end.
For graphics 7 out of 10!
Conclusion & Overall
----------------------
Game was good. It was worth it. It had epic stuff and sad/bad stuff. If you start playing it, then do not quit after few seconds, play it till the end! Trust me, it has good story little bit later. Or maybe it is just me?
Overall score: 7/10
