Unless you are a total die-hard Fable 3 fan that needs everything, $5 for 1hr of fun is not my ideal package.

Note: This is the PC version of The Understone Quest Pack and not the Xbox version.

The path to become the ruler of Albion is certainly a no easy task. As part of your mission you need to gain allies, and the first being the dwellers. They requested (among many things) to knock off the mercenary captain Saker – no problems. Then to assist the Bowerstone Resistance, you need to dress up to join the Masquerade ball only to walk into a trap…that is the Wheel of Misfortune – courtesy of The Reaver! And in between all of this, a strange booming voice emitting from a factory in the Bowerstone Industrial complex screams 'adventure'!

So what does this all means? Welcome to the Understone Quest Pack where the quest starts off by a factory owner in the Bowerstone Industrial, complaining about a voice that can be heard throughout his factory, causing his workers to leave. An odd concept as The Reaver wouldn't approve workers leaving without serious consequences. Nevertheless the hero then arrives to an underground town, rich with people, houses, a little farm etc that pays homage to the Fallout series; that is the Vault. So it's up to the player to determine the fate of this small town whether to free or enslave them.

To knock off this quest shouldn't take any more than an hour. Actually for me I didn't know I was doing this DLC until near the end as I thought it was part of the original game. Granted that I downloaded the DLC in conjunction with Fable 3, however it's that short it felt like a side mission (similar to the side quest 'Driftwood'). Heck it doesn't have any achievements either yet it does have some nice add-ons like a new hairdo and clothing, and to the adventurous type, an easter egg with a cool cook's hat as a reward.

As a saving grace for my $4.99 Steam price there are two more side quests being the mercenary's shooting range and the Reaver's Wheel of Misfortune. The shooting gallery aim is to shoot targets: score high for hitting the bullseye and low for anything else. As with the Reaver's Wheel of Misfortune is practically the same as the masquerade quest so I won't go any future other than to say both are repeatable quests and again no achievements. Yet as a saving grace, you will be gifted two weapons being the Marksman 500 and the Full Monty from Lionhead Studios just because you downloaded this DLC.

So it's hard to recommend this DLC as it really doesn't add any new features other than a quest that last an hour. Granted the quest is quite entertaining when listening to with the booming voice warning the 'intruder', and references that the above world is nothing more than a wasteland, plus some extra items however it's not enough to satisfy my $5.00. Unless of course you are a total die-hard Fable 3 fan that needs everything.
