This in my opinion is actually one of the best games of all time. Now i know many of you dont enjoy games that take a lot of skill raising and travel etc. but this game has a very unique style. I personally hate midevil based games like this such as WoW or even Bethesdas other accomplishment the elder scrolls, to me traveling around casting magic missile for 100 hours or more isnt my game. but in fall out you are presented with a wide open and detailed wasteland that gives you strange creatures and even more interesting personalities of characters. The game offers both first person and third person views which both are well set up and the third person mode is even customizable to your liking such as distance and angle. The story if you were to go straight forward would prove to be roughly 20 hours BUT this game is not just about straight forward gameplay, if you choose to give this game a shot you'll see what i mean. You'll be given the mission at the very start as soon as you step foot to the wastes to find your father, but in mere minutes in fact the first legit person you talk to in megaton offers you a side quest. If you were to do everything the game offers, including all quests items scavanging areas, and take them to 100% you will have faced well over 200 hours of gameplay and thats not including the 5 DLC that are available. To some this form of gameplay can be very boring but excluding that there are some great aspects not included with what i mentioned earlier. for one there is actually no way to do everything in one runthrough. for one reason is there is a fine line between neutral play, Good play, and bad play, if you choose to be a disciple and be good and virtuous you will experience a completely different game compared to both other methods. There are in fact despite all the greatness a few flaws. Sometimes while playing you will face some graphically challenged moments where textures blend incorrectly and sometimes even cause the game itself to crash on not just PC but as well as both console versions. The crashing is not very repetitive but when it does happen and you havn't saved for the past 5 hours im almost certain you will be a little more then mad. Now talk is cheap and im just one guy but i strongly recommend you buy this game or even barrow it from a friend or relative especially now since the Game of the year edition gives all 5 DLC's and stores for the time being are offering it for $50 as discount to the holidays rather then the already fair price of $60. Thankyou for your time and hope this review helps you on your choice of buying this game.
