A good expansion with some major glitches
Point Lookout itself is a big place(not as big as Capital Wasteland but it'll take some time to fully explore). It's essentially a huge swamp so it's a change of scenery as you'll see a lot of plants and its filled with some interesting places, including a lighthouse and the pier,to explore. There aren't a lot of civilized people living here though and there's even no doctor(far as I know),so most of the living creatures you meet are hostile, including swamp lurks and ghouls, smugglers and some outrageously mutated xenophobic hillbillies(though they are sentient, don't bother trying to reason with them). The enemies can be very tough even at higher levels so be prepared for quite some fights and to help you out some cool new weapons get introduced including the double barreled shotgun. Most of the new weapons aren't really high tech but they are really bad*** and cool to use(though some enemies can take too many hits).Apart from exploring and the story you can also partake in some sidequests, unfortunately there are only 3 and all of them are quite linear(2 are just fetch quests).
The expansion does however have some bad glitches, especially slow down and freezing ,both are nothing new to fallout 3 but they are quite persistent here, sometimes going to certain places makes the game freeze(though after a while this wears off and you can go there) and you might not be able to complete the story if you make one choice as it will send waves of enemies that severely slows the game down and can even freeze it so the glitches do ruin this expansion(I'm playing it on the GOTY edition). The graphics haven't changed and the music is the same as in the main game(though there is no radio).
Overall Point Lookout is for those looking for more Fallout 3 styled adventure, it offers a big new world and some cool things to do in it though it offers nothing new to the formula and has some serious glitches.
