On the one hand, I really enjoyed the gloom and vast environment of the Point Lookout, several new guilt-trip-ridden missions and especially shooting up a bunch of hicks with a lever action rifle wearing nothing but worker's overall and a Civil War era cap. On the other, I found all the promised loot pretty much worthless and the said hicks unbelievably difficult to kill given that they had very little armor.

The loot was indeed spread all over the place. However, 2 merchants in Point Lookout had very few caps and dragging all the scrap metal and fission batteries back to the Wasteland became a chore rather quickly.

Like I said, the hicks (swampfolk) wore very little armor (or closing for that matter) and used some preemptive weaponry like axes and shotguns, but they dealt quite a damage and took very little of it themselves. Fighting against a supermutant seemed nothing in comparison to these guys. When I just started this level, I dropped off all of my fancy winterized armor and energy weapons at the nearest locker, put on some overalls and grabbed one of them shotguns to blend into the local populous. That was a big mistake. I never used up so many steampacks in just one firefight. Luckily, there were plenty lying around for grabs.

The expansion pack brought a couple of new weapons and items but except for moonshine none seemed very useful. Overall, the expansion pack gives a nice Southern twist to the ruined megapolice which I really enjoyed. On the other hand, surprisingly difficult enemies were offset by loot that was literally spread all over the place which seemed like a cheat since after a fierce firefight, all you had to do is to walk up to a nearest locker and stock up on steampacks and other healing stuff.
