Fallout 3 is the best RPG I've ever played bar none. It was a vast area to explore, and while most of the landscapes can be monotonous at points it is the settlements that make the scenery. There are expansive slave camps hidden in rifts among the rocks. There is the settlement of Megaton, one of your first destinations after leaving Vault 101. The weapons in this game are extensive, although they do look and react similar to each other, it is the damage they do and the beauty of the V.A.T.S. system that makes combat in Fallout so appealing. You can watch as your character shoots of an opponents leg, or shoots the weapon out of their hands. And of course, there is the infamous head-shot which always results in a beautiful kill no matter what the circumstance. Perhaps the best part about Fallout is the side quests which can be found and completed, sometimes for valuable items (The Blackhawk from Agatha's Song for instance, or the Alien Blaster from the Crash Landing Site). Another advantage of Fallout, and the reason to go for the GOTY edition, is to get the extra content which allows the player to up their character to level 30 as well as opens new areas and missions as well as achievements and in some cases side quests. All in all Fallout 3 is a must have and a must play for people who can appreciate a quality RPG. Just get ready to put a HELL of a lot of time into playing this game, because there's so much to do!!
