This game owns oblivion

User Rating: 8.5 | Fallout 3 X360
I have played both "Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion" and its brother counterpart "Fallout 3" and I have to admit Fallout 3 is better.
Why? The magic and swordplay from oblivion is nice, but if you really wanted an rpg game with an open world to explore, there are plenty of others like world of warcraft or guild wars. Fallout 3 is unique, it is exactly like oblivion, but instead of magic and swords in a fantasy kingdom, it's a futuristic Washington DC full of blood, despair, and an everyday fight for survival in a nuked wasteland as a result of WW3. Here are some reasons why I think the game is fun:

1. The story; a great beginning as a boy who wanders out from his vault to seek the truth about his father which leads him to evil tyrants and valiant warriors in the desert of 2277 known as Washington DC.
2. A unique but simple combat system; V.A.T.S. targeting system allows you to tactically target specific body parts on enemy units to for combat purposes such as crippling their legs to slow movement, shooting their arms to cause them to drop their weapon, or just a bullet to the head to silence them completely.
3. A HUGE world to explore; wander through the wastes, countrysides, caverns, metro stations, and streets of Washington DC as you encounter hundreds of NPCs and mutated enemies.
4. An RPG first-person-shooter; an action-fps game is combined with the role playing genre of world of warcraft, you must train your skills in order to survive in the harsh wasteland such as guns, speech, science, explosives, and even lock-picking.
5. Over a thousand ways to play; you can choose whoever you want to be, from birth you can choose your name, hairstyle, and race. As you grow, you can choose your combat style, from a sneaky gunslinger to a silver-tongued intellectual or an explosive pyromaniac.

Though this game is extremeley fun and addicting, it can be sometimes too easy. Once you've honed your characters skills to a high enough level, a shot to the head with the help of VATS can kill almost anything in one shot. Even on hard difficulty, I find it very easy.
But don't let that stop you from getting this awesome game. It's worth way more than the expensive price, as you'll spend hours blasting through hordes of super mutants and scavenging the corpses of abandoned factories.
