Pure post-apocalyptic goodness,

While you could say that Fallout 3 is just Oblivion with guns and severely darker tone, you could just be right. But this is not a bad thing. Bethesda took the franchise, crafted it with their own love, and conceived something absolutely amazing. Fallout 3 stays true to Fallout lore, and doesn't stray from the recipe that made the original games so great. The new 3D gameplay and atmosphere are a breath of fresh air for the series. You feel more immersed in the delightfully well crafted wasteland of an alternate Washington D.C.. Combat is intense and well thought out. You can either charge in with guns blazing and shoot at your targets at random or enter V.A.T.S. and carefully take out your foes with extreme accuracy. Character customization is well done, and any armor you equip on your character will change their appearance as well as giving extra skill buffs. Exploration is also greatly provided and recommended. There is plenty to find in the Capitol Wasteland, and there are plenty of Side quests and unmarked quests to be found. And the Karma system is still in full effect here. You can choose to be Good, Evil, or Neutral through your actions, and almost every choice carries a consequence. If you loved the first two Fallout Games, or are a fan of The Elder Scrolls, this is one game every western RPG fan should try.
