Probably the best video game I've played.

I'm a "shooter" gamer and a Crytek fan at that. I wasn't into RPGs, I found them boring and with awkward childlike shooting mechanics and gameplay. I would have probably have never played Fallout 3 but it was given to me as a birthday gift so I thought what the heck, why not give it a go. That is one of the best decisions I've made in my life because Fallout 3 is probably the best video game I've ever played. Now, I'm used to the fast pace of top-shelf shooters like Crysis, COD4 etc so it took about six to ten hours to get used to the RPG style and pace. I'm glad I hung in there because Fallout 3 is absolutely fabulous. In fact, it got too addicting. I never imagined bottle cap collecting and Deathclaw hunting with Jericho or Charon (NPC followers) out in the wasteland could be such an enjoyable pastime. Gaming time was cutting into my busy schedule as a management consultant and I'm glad I completed it because to be honest I didn't want it to end. I played the game on "normal" and it took me about 100 hours to complete and this includes all the side quests as well as the main ones. I'm not going to say anymore except this. Fallout 3 is the future of gaming, not just RPGs. The perfect game would combine the best of Bethseda's storytelling and complex (good/evil karma etc) character/environment interaction with Crysis' graphics and stylish "shooter" design. I give Fallout 3 a 9.5 out of 10. It's the highest score I've given to any video game including beloved favourites such as (game includes series) Far Cry, Crysis, Gears of War, Call of Duty, Halo etc. That's how highly I rate this game. Now, note that it''s not perfect. In fact its a bit buggy so you'l need to patch it up and even then its prone to the odd crash now and again. But don't let that stop you from acquiring this game because the experience is worth every penny and more.
