The DLC that could've been but wasn't.

It is save for me to to say that I have played through and beaten all of Fallout 3's DLCs' and this being the last one, I expected more.

One thing that dissapointed me was that this DLC went away from the feature that made the most recent DLC, Point Lookout, an amazing DLC. This DLC is an action based DLC and can safely be compared to it's counterpart DLC, Operation Anchorage. Mothership Zeta improved on which Operation Anchorage failed on to some extend. Mothership Zeta actually gave you a mission and deep immersive characters however, almost no story! Yeah, sure you get abducted on a ship but, where's the story? Why were on the ship? Who are the aliens? What do they want from are world? No explaintion at all. Which really goes back to why Operation Anchorage was, in my opinion, a poorly made DLC. The only thing that saves this DLC from the same fate of Operation Anchorage is length and character development and graphics.

Mothership Zeta strong point is it's characters' that you can communicate with. They all have a back story and all have many dialouge options to talk about. Also the length of the DLC felt second longest[in main quests] which was great but not long enough. The visuals were a true feat of epic achievement. There's a scene where you go near a command bridge and see the Earth in it's post-apoclyptic form. Epic.

Combat in Mothership Zeta is pretty good. The enemies are very tough but their weapons help you coupe with them, so if your a low level, this is great for you. The game's weapons are pretty awesome. So far I have found four basic weapons and one special weapon. All are pretty fun and powerful to use. You do find a lot of ammo for these new alien guns[2000 to be exact]but a alien weapon's fender would be a much needed person. There are also a few Alien Power Cells for the Alien gun but, with the new weapons, my Alien gun is collecting dust. The one thing that I found lame was the objectives they give you in MZ are pretty dull. Like for example, destroy the three charges[which all look the same]. However, each place you go to destroy these objects are pretty different from each other.

In the end, the DLC fails to match up to the exileration of being the best DLC in Fallout 3. I recommend getting the DLC if you need some new guns or are a Fallout 3 fanatic, like me. Otherwise, you should buy Point Lookout or Broken Steel[if you haven't].
