I have been, as many, many other users, a big fan of the series since Fallout 2. We could all agree Bethesda did a great job and service to the franchise with Fallout 3 and New Vegas. 4 was OK.
I am extremely disappointed with this iteration, since in my opinion and in a nutshell, it violates, what at least on my book, is every game's golden rule: to entertain. Not getting into many details, I think Bethesda delivered an unprepared product with many poor design choices and lackluster execution overall. From the technical aspects to the actual game mechanics. I can barely call it a game, but maybe more like a simulator? Because this offer comprises aspects of RPG, Survival and MMO - one can't help but to compare it with market benchmarks for each category which are really good at what they do, and to be honest, none of these aspects rise up to acceptable levels - it is just unrealistic to expect players will force themselves into putting hours (30-40) of playing to reach a more entertaining experience.
There have been times I felt I wasn't paying enough for titles such as the Witcher, but in this case I can't help but to feel stupid for putting 60 hard earned bucks down for a raw title which makes me feel forced to move around to do what? find another dead character's letter or holotape which can potentially point to a robot's location? Not to mention how hard it focus on what is being narrated due to the cumbersome and all-over-the-place audio from players, environment, etc...
It would be great if Bethesda redeems itself by providing the, currently missing, rest of the game to justify $60 price mark. Maybe ass free packs or something. At least characters, narrative, cities which might not necessarily violate the principles of a total wasteland etc...
Finally, even if I am "missing the point" of "the game", it still feels rushed, underdeveloped and worst of all, boring.
