This is a great game, but gliches take a lot out of this game.
Story: Well story is a big factor in the fallout series, but the main story is short and forgettable, but there are some side quests that make up for the lacking story. The main story is all about factions, meaning there are four different story lines but getting to the ending for each faction is a chore cause most factions require you to do the same quest with minor differences. So the story is a let down in Fallout New Vegas.
Characters: There are some great character you meet in your travels. You will meet cowboys, city boys, and a lot of gangsters. There are, of course, raiders but the cool thing is enemies in this game each have a faction they belong to.
Gliches: Well gliches are a big problem in this game. After playing for about an hour the game will freeze. If your lucky, you can pull out two hours but freezing is the biggest problem in this game. There are also quest gliches. Some are so bad that you won't even be able to complete the quest. Forcing you to make a new file or skipping the quest, which no one likes to do. I would have rather waited another year for this game then playing this gliched game they have out now. If your can find this game for 30 dollars then pick it up but for 60 dollars, your getting ripped.
Companions: This might be the best change this game has made over all in fallout 3. I never used companions, I was the lone wonder, but in Fallout New Vegas companions are fun to have with you. They have great stories that go with them; some of them are pretty sad though. One of the bad things about companions though is they are a little too over powered making combat too easy at times, but they are a big improvement over Fallout 3.
Hardcore: This mode should not be named this at all, the combat is not hard. They should rename it survival mode cause the only thing that changes in this mode is you have to drink water, eat food, sleep, and ammo has weight to it. This mode is worth a try but i'm not a fan of it.
Factions: Is a pretty nice change but is also one of the worst things too. Factions are forced on you if you don't like a faction and are still a low lever character then when they send their assassins on you it won't be much of a fight cause you'll be dead very quickly. There are four main factions that you can help take over Vegas, and because of the four factions it's worth at least four play throughs.
Choice: Well fallout is known for letting your choose how the game is played. Whether you help the town prosper or burn it to the ground, or be the hero or the villian. Although there are some great choices to be made, the game ends the same way no matter what choices you make which makes your choices feel less important. SO the choices are not as great as fallout 3.
So all in all, if you love RPG's then this game is for you, but the gliches are very noticable and if you can't handle a gliche I would pass this up cause this might be the game with the most gliches I have ever played.
