A game for neither gamers nor Family Guy fans
Graphically this game is worse than the already purposefully simple style of the TV show. Robotic movements and characters simply freezing like statues if they aren't talking in cutscenes really makes this feel like a game you outgrew in 1998.
Use of the FG license is clearly just a cash grab. It consists mainly of one-liners pulled from the show itself, poorly scripted dialog using the show cast, and random lines from everyone else intended to shock, but actually comes off desperate for a laugh anywhere in this disaster of a game. Where the show uses low brow humor to leverage a serious topic (usually), this game lacks wit, sarcasm, or intelligence and it's humor appeals only to the fart-joke crowd. It never attempts to rise above that to the level of the show itself.
The Stewie character at least gets weapons that align with the show- ray guns and diaper grenades. While Brian makes due with standard handguns and molotov cocktails, revealing a glaring lack of creativity on the dev's behalf.
It's not even really a coherent story line. This is a series of nearly identical, repetitive and uninspired levels strung together only by a forced narrative between them.
Considering the popularity of FG, and the premium Seth could exact for licensing his product- this game is inexcusably bad. It is on the level of the worst Star Wars cash grab tie-in games that tumble out below the quality of even budget titles, anytime the creator needs a few bucks in his wallet.
After 30 minutes or so, even my FG obsessed teenager turned the game off in favor of watching paint dry or something. This isn't just a bad game because it fails to be anything but a cheap FG cash in-- it is simply a terrible game on any level, regardless of the license being abused.
Gets a 3 only because it is stable and for the time I wasted on it, glitch-free.
