Overall a good base storyline with very good graphics to back it up. In my opinion too realistic though.

Far Cry was a good series. From FC1 to Instincts and on. But Far Cry 2 was a game that pushed the graphics even further. The rendering, the lighting pulsing down from the sun. It was all done very nicely. Now with graphics aside, let's talk Gameplay. The actual gameplay is pretty smooth. It has it ups and it's downs though. Gun battles can be a little challenging but still play out smoothly. The driving in the game was what completely made me drop this game all together, you see there is a time in some games when they can make it a little too realistic, and the driving in Far Cry 2 is a good example. While driving in the game, you are forced to keep looking up and down at a map to see where you are going. That's right. There is no mini map on your hud to direct you. You need to read the map while driving, which in my case resulted in crashing into many, many trees and other miscellaneous objects in the game which I should have been to run over with a car. But other than the driving problems I had, Far Cry 2 has overall good gameplay, a good story, and decent multiplayer. I personally would say rent first or borrow from a friend before buying it or you might be disappointed.
