Glowing laser guns and Dragons shooting fire from their eyes. What more can you want?...
The Good:
An all new story and atmosphere with all the good elements of Far Cry 3.
Retro Story and characters: In a post-apocalyptic future a Cyborg Commando is on a mission to stop a doomsday weapon, kick terrorist butt, save the world and get the girl; Nothing can scream 1980s action movie more than this.
Kickass Soundtrack that goes with the retro theme of the game.
Witty references to other 80's stuff; there are many references and goofs to many classic movies and cartoons such as Terminator, TMNT, Transformers, Star Wars, RoboCop, G.I Joe via hilarious dialogues, missions, weapon names and such.
A limited number of Weapons from the original game with a new futuristic redesign such as neon colored bow and laser assault rifles.
Remade versions of animals to fit the post-apocalyptic era including the deadly Blood Dragon.
Killstar; That is one badass weapon of destruction.
The Bad:
.
50/50:
Could have been longer; though that may be the toll of being a standalone expansion.
Conclusion:
Far Cry 3: Blood Dragon surpasses almost all other standalones by creating its own unique story and atmosphere while also retaining the elements which made the original game awesome in the first place. And that's definitely worthy of admiration considering that's something most actual sequel games fail to do these days. It is fun, clever and simply put a very amusing game to play.
