Far Cry 3 one of the most talked about games of 2012. I just got my hands on it recently, though its my roommates copy of it, and I can see what all the hype was about. The game is magnificent in its gameplay and its visuals, I'm completely hooked on it. I watched my roommate got through the last 1/3 of the story and I'm probably about 1/3 through the beginning in my playthrough and there are a few minor annoyances but overall its a great experience. There are plenty of missions or activities to keep the player busy for quite some time while the store/crafting/skill interfaces all work fairly well both in how they operate and giving the player more to unlock. Depending on the rate at which you play this game and how focused you are on the plot, some will progress faster than others. I heard from quite a few people that they maxed out their skills when only about halfway through the game. Personally I haven't gotten through much of the story yet and I'm not even far enough for my skills to even be unlocked for upgrading but I have already crafted or purchased the majority of the available gear I'll need. If you like action, free roaming, and the variety to play as you please this game is for you. I've heard this game described as "if Skyrim were a shooter" I think that might be a bit of an overstatement as Skyrim holds to be more grand in scope or complexity of some aspects but ultimately Far Cry 3 is pretty close to Skyrim with guns.
