If you loved Instincts, you won't love Evolutions...
The gameplay wasn't rebuffed at all, sure the Predator abilities were made better with better speed and power and giving Mercs the ability to sprint was genius, but overall the gameplay is what kills it. You don't feel like you're in the game, the physics in Evo are horrible.
I wonder if they even playtested the game because the "newly" additions bring shame to the game. The transport truck, unless you make a map where it is forced to drive one straight direction without disturbance, is a waste. It's a great way to ask the enemy if they want a free multi kill because much like the new Pickup Truck, the handling is awful. You'll hit a penny on the road and tip over like the statue of Saddam back in Iraq.
The new weapons are no big deal. Pipe Bombs are the best of the 3 new weapons, the Blowgun offers some fun but in the end helps kill off the fun of Predator allowing a one shot kill to the Predator, and the Molotav Cocktails are as useless as Transport Trucks unless you plan to have a knife fight with another opponent and decide to commit suicide by throwing it down at your feet.
The map editor has now been killed as well. At first it seemed nice to have new pieces but the map editor in this game is user friendly, aka for noobs, so each map will in the end immitate other ones in either a piss poorer way or slightly better way. And due to a recent patch which was supposed to allow your favorites list of maps to stay rather than resetting after you turn off the console, however it failed and backfired to the point where it somehow screws up the map editor in the sense your pieces follow the same distance above a certain point above ground, meaning it's as **** as the Instincts editor.
The game has been killed, Ubisoft only pays attention to their beloved Ghost Recon series and leaves all other games behind alot like the little sand dune midgets in Star Wars where they gather broken droids and pile 'em up and sell them. That's Ubisoft right there.
And don't think about getting the 360 version, Predator. For online play, the lag is unberable to the point where you cannot hear anyone say a thing and are limited to about 5 people in a server without problems, not to mention the game crashes whenever you look at water at a weird angle.
The game was great for the first day or so and went downhill. The community sucks with low numbers showing off worse and worse maps each day. All's it is is a showcase of **** maps and people hardly play the damn game the way it's meant to be, not to mention the premade maps suck real bad compared to Instincts when Crytek put effort into the game unlike Ubisoft.
Ubisoft put Instincts in its ass, waited for some time and pulled it back out calling it Evolutions. Do not buy this game, especially now when it's the worst time to play with a downfall community and **** up map editor. Use that money elsewhere.
