Are you easily scared? Do you have troubles watching horror movies or even thrillers? If your answer is yes, this game is definitely not for you! ”Fatal Fram 2”, or”Project Zero II: Crimson Butterfly” as it is called in Sweden, is one of the scariest games ever made. The game enforces its really gloomy atmosphere with brilliant graphics and really well performed sound. You’re playing as one of two Japanese twin sisters, which have ended up in a deserted village somewhere in the middle of nowhere. The quest begins at an easy pace and you are initially searching for clues and objects pretty much undisturbed by the ghastly visitations that haunt the hovel, but as you progress these ghosts become more and more aggressive. Your only weapon is an old camera used to photograph the ghosts (which, by the way, isn’t visible through your standard view). Different kind of film has different levels of exorcismal powers, so be sure to find the most effective early on. As you progress further the game gets tougher and is in no way easy. The bosses are difficult to fight off and take ages to kill, if you only possess week film. Otherwise the game has a good blend between puzzles and action. The story line is great, and develops in a kind of Henrik Ibsen type of way, where you get to know more of incidents in the passed as you yourself get longer into the game. Overall, there isn’t many flaws in this game, and the only reason for not giving it higher ratings, is that I’m usually not very interested in these games. You should be aware that “Fatal Frame II” follows the same recipe that many other horror games does, so if you know you aren’t into that genre of game, leave it alone, otherwise off to the shop!
