Really scary and fun. Love it!

Fatal Frame 2: Crimson Butterfly has to be one of the best horror games out there. I've been playing it for a long time and it still makes me nervous. The concept of taking ghost pictures is great and keeps you on the edge. The music is also good, and helps a lot in keeping the gamer in the mood. What I loved most about the game is the story and whole concept of the village and its massacre. The story is about twin sisters, Mio and Mayu, that visit a place in the mountains, where they used to play in their childhood years, due to it's about to be destroyed by the construction of a dam. While being there, the girls get spirited away into All God's Village, a village shrouded in darkness that relives the night of the great massacre that occurred within it. The village had an old custom of sacrificing twins in a dark ritual in order to preserve the village and its grounds. At first, the story is vague but while progressing in the game it gets more compelling, and the atmosphere gets even creepier. The game has multiple endings, which depends on how you play it, and it also has different difficulty levels. The characters are alright but the ghosts are the ones that really stand out here; they were made to scare you and they vary a lot, so I have no doubt you will find at least one that really scares you.

The game may not have over-the-top visuals, but I'd recommend it to anyone in search of a really good scare. As for the replay value, I like playing the game from time to time after completing it, but I'd have to say it ranges in the medium value. Overall, a great game and an awesome addition to the collection of survival horror fans.
