The 2nd of the Battle Archive series introduces the Classic Fatal Fury gang to a fresh update!
Because the first Battle Archive was mainly for gamer looking for some classic fun and could tolerate the stiff gameplay found in those games. But if you're looking for something that's closer to the fighting games like KOF, SF series, Capcom vs SNK series ... then this would suffice!
Honestly, I've always loved the Fatal Fury series ... from the heroes to the villains, everyone's a tough nut to crack ... and they just got harder the moment Real Bout FF came along ... the graphics and gameplay improved a whole lot from FF3, with the characters having more moves, better attacks and wild combos. The multi-plane field system expands to 3 fields and attacks at corners will eventually ring out your opponent at the 2 ends of the screen ... the music was better in RBFF and Geese Howard had an extreme combo that was off the chart awesome to watch when fully connected!
The other 2 RBFF expansions were drawn more cartoonish than the first RBFF. The graphics were more colorful and the system was still more or less the same, and the game introduced more characters from the old series back into the game ... as well as alternate versions (gotta love the EX characters! some are wayyy more powerful!) and also several new characters as well.
The only sad thing is that they didn't bring in the Dominated Mind expansion of the RBFFS ... a special edition of the game that featured an additional character (Alfred) and a new final boss (Mr.White). However, i remember Alfred can be fought against in the RBFF2 game ... still, it won't make any sense now ... unless it was included into this package.
Anyway, i would encourage fans to go grab this and have fun, newbies to the series, this would be a great set of games to start on! For the skeptics, well, i assure you that your time would not be wasted playing one of the best fighting games ever made! :D
Worth it spend your $$ on!
