This title suffers badly from being a console port.

Although the game has amazing potential, the lack of a save function made playing it a chore. Scripted events can reach out and suddenly kill you, forcing you to reload a checkpoint half a level back, leading to the kind of trial-and-error gameplay that I find unbearably frustrating.

Despite this, I really wanted to like FEAR 3. The firefights are fun and hectic, the abilities are useful and interesting, and the I found the visuals to be satisfying enough.

Sadly, each and every time I found myself starting to really enjoy the game, I would be forced to reload a half of a level back, which quickly became BEYOND annoying.

It is a true shame that what could be fantastic games are these days far too often hobbled by their console port limitations.

Having to force oneself to bear with this type of critical flaw in order to enjoy the story virtually guaranteed that I would only be playing through this title the one time.
