If you've played any advance wars, prepare for disappointment
Upon starting the game, it is well done presentationaly, obviously taking advantage of the horse power of the PSP - the 3d presentation is good and the controls tight. This is basically a port of Advance Wars, even down to the way the game controls.
However, once you get past the first 10 challenges or so, that is as far as the similarity lies. You realise that throughout the campaign, the only way the AI can have any chance against you is by having far superior numbers. Even then, it is pretty poor. Leaving far more powerful units next to a soldier will mean it will attack you instead of preserving units. For a strategy game, it is critical to have good AI in my opinion.
Where the game's saving grace is its on-line capability which is why I bump my score up. But, this game spelled the end of my affair with my PSP and I ended up purchasing a DS and advance wars - I have never looked back!
