True footbal fans will look over PES for this one.
The big plus of the game is the Season mode. You can start the game as a manager managing small clubs like weaker Premiership clubs or the Division One or Two groups. I chose Wolverhampton as my beginning club. It was really exiting to see the newspaper sets. It’s much harder to get to grips with the controls which makes the scores realistic. It will take you some time to develop a team good enough to even score a goal.
You’ll also be faced with multiple choice questions each one changing fans views on the team, job security and player happiness. There are some added little touches that make yourself feel proud to be a manger for example cracking a joke in press conferences after hammering Luton 3-0. The whole game is a football fan’s dream.
PES fans will need adjusting however FIFA 06 has a control layout identical to that of the PES series. There’s a lot to do including unlockables and even a retro FIFA game add-on which is also cool. So overall this game is a real surprisingly addictive footy sim for any fan to stick their teeth into. If you’re into Championship Manager but is put off by watching moving dots on the field for five minutes every match you’ll want this in your collection.
PES fanboys will hate the sight of this game natually. But true soccer fans will like this game for it’s realistic gameplay and all out quality.
