An excellent game that is only brought down by the fact that it is still overshadowed by the PES series.

You're probably reading this review because you can't decide whether to get FIFA or PES. What with both being excellent football games it can be difficult to deicide. Well, all i can say is that i've always been a PES fan and not really a FIFA person. I hammered PES 4 for hours and still did not get bored. However, upon purchasing PES 5 i was disappointed by the fact that apart from a few minor (and admittedly stupid) tweaks to the game it had not changed. Then i bought FIFA and everything was alright again. I had an original, slick polished footy game to play on again. The manager mode is an in-depth entertaing ride through the various leagues around the world. The gameplay is fast and polished and the presentation is top notch. The inclusion of all the extras "purchased" in the fan zone is an added bonus. From classic player profiles to last season's football highlights from around the world it has it all. Truly it is the most complete footballing package around. But, don't get me wrong. FIFA 06 is a good game, but if you don't have PES 4 then i'm afraid PES 5 is your better bet. I only like FIFA more because PES 5 is too similar to PES 4. It's just that the gameplay on PES is and probably always will be superior to the FIFA series. So you must ask yourself. Do i want gameplay or presentation? That is the real question.
