I've skipped some FIFA games since 2013-2014 since i felt they stressed me more than amuse me. And for me the main issue it had was the feeling of control. Many problems i felt came from not really feeling i control my players. Yes, you can argue that i may suck or i pressed the wrong button, but it happens way too often. And here this is no exception. Giving a pass to a player i didn't want, giving a way too strong pass, making a sliding tackle with a player i didn't control, giving a pass in the obviously wrong direction, defense going duuuuuh, etc. Those little details can really change a match and arouse your anger faster.
The other stuff is just good. The different modes, although they repeat itself every year, are always fun and challenging. The inclusion of a women's international tournament i think it's pretty good. Although why they didn't include Japan when it was the finalist in the last world cup and previous world champion beats me.
Graphics could be better but they obviously make a lot of effort for the most famous players rather than others. The only thing that bothers me a little is that sometimes the picture of the player is not even close to the 3D modeling you see in a match. Sometimes the only thing they got right is the skin color.
Everything else is pretty basic. Football is always fun to watch and play, has a lot of replay value and EA sports rarely adds something new, but we still buy it (sadly...) The only thing i recommend is DO NOT PLAY ON LEGENDARY. You are powerless against the will of the machine. You could be Barcelona and still lose to Peru (i'm peruvian, so i don't care saying my national team sucks... except on legendary).
My final rating is a 6/10.
Try to just have fun.
