What needed to be done has been done to this, but it's very hit and miss for me... Read on!
I've always been a fan of the FIFA series but i felt that since getting a 360, FIFA was better fun on PC and PS2 then it was on the Xbox. But what needed to be done to fix that has been done to this, but it's very hit and miss for me.
Love the fact for starters that the practice mode has gone back to normal I.E practice match is avaliable and practicing free kicks is too, i never got the hang of free kicks in FIFA 09 untill a week ago but by then, FIFA 10 had come out :\ and the develop your own set peices is a nice function, although it froze on me when i went to save one!!!!! which is why im down here writing this at the moment.
The Manager mode is VASTLY IMPROVED! EA Sports Canada gets my thumbs up for that. Great (although slightly bewildering) new transfer system has me all excited, and the shortlisting is back!!!! that is a crutial must IMO, i used it all the time on PC and PS2 and was wondering why it wasn't on the Xbox New Gen Versions. And how it's sort of reverted almost to the old school style of manager mode, while intergrating with new featues, is a massive bonus.
As for the Graphics, Ehhhhh, i've never been to fussy about graphics, i meen to this day super mario brothers 3 is my favrouite game of all time and thats not picture perfect real, and nor should it be, and thats a motto for me about all my games. I Love team fortress 2 and thats all cartoony so graphics are not of my concern, although it should be noted that they are beautiful, except for the weird fuzzyness you get in cutscenes (jsut a bit weird) and the occasional bug I.E not showing who gets substituted when 3 subs comes on. Come on EA Canada, it's not that hard now is it?
Gameplay. This is the hit and miss major factor for me. I love the fact that it's more realistic in the fact that the new defending clearance system is a mirror of how i play (or should play at least :\ ) but the goalkeeper AI, as always, is shambolic. Example, i was on a lame little run on the right hand side, no real threat, and the goal keeper comes off his line, to his 8 yard box (the first bomx after the goal line for those not i the know) leaving a massive gap for me to either slot the ball past him or pass it to an unmarked man at the back to score. Now some might argue that this is what some keepers do, but i've not seen it before and i garuntee that if you read this and then play the game, you'll notice it.
As for everything else, Passing is fine if not better, Shooting has gone back to how it used to be in PS2 and PC (or at least it seems) except chipping which im struggeling to get the hold of (all of it i meen), Physical play is werid becuase of the way some tackles that would ordinaraly get a yellow or a free kick don't anymore and free kicks have gone old school too. THANK GOD FOR THAT!!! now i don't suck so much at it =)
As a final note, im loving the new create a player system in where you don; get to level your guy by some stupid system which maxes (is it maxes? i don't know how to spell it) out your stats so badly that it's not funny, and the growth system in general.
Final, final note, im not subscribed to gold yet, my subscription has run out so i haven't played it online, but i already hate the paying for live season. get with the times guys!!! POWER TO THE PEOPLE
