Fifa 10 vs Pro Evo 10, read this review to determine which game has one this year battle to be best football game.
Fifa 10 has great faced paced gameplay, new and exciting elements and a brilliant overall presentation.
The gameplay has been revamped this year, thanks to the new 360 degree dribbling implemented. This is a great new change to enhance the realism and come close to the real life concept of how good football really is. The 360 degree dribbling allows to create more space on the pitch and now is alot easier attempting to get past defenders.
Weather and pitch effects are also good, as when it is a bright sunny day it really brings out Fifa's colours and makes it look that much better or when it is raining, there is a sense of realism, where the pitch gets muckier and not so easy to play on. You will have to change tactics when playing in different conditions, as when it is sunny you can execute some great lobbed balls over the defence but when it is raining it is much harder because the ball can slip away from the player easily.
This year Fifa has an improved manager mode aswell. I think it has been greatly improved and is very fun to try and build up your squad and be the best of the best. A new simulation system makes other match results seem more realistic, as well as the better teams seem to actually play better against the user now. Also the transfer system has been slightly changed for the better, as now you can make as many bids as you want, and depending on who accepts and who doesn't you can decide who to finally sign. It is also easier to sign players as when you change their salary or match bonus it will greatly improve yyour chances of them signing for your club.
Be a Pro, is still their from last year and is great if you want to control just one player and take him through his career and play for better clubs and eventually the international team. It is also good for better players, that you can already play in the main squad or as part of the international team. This mode is fun and addictive, due to the fact that if you do the right things in matches you will become much more recognised as a player, and you can gain some good experience. Online is still more ore less the same, and is still been kept good.
Menu layouts are much better improved, and it is much easier to navigate your way through with ease and to know what you're looking for. It's presentation is much better improved and the replay systems are still good, as it has plenty of angles to view replays better.
Their is a tremendous amount of leagues in Fifa 10, with some more being added and most of these or possibly all of them are fully licensed, something which Pro Evo fails with. The licenses of teams adds to the realism, as when you're playing matches you can really get a sense of the team being out their playing for real.
The new virtual pro is a great new edition to the game. It allows yu to create a player and you can play as him in any game mode or even take him online. Their are also accomplishments to complete for your pro, in which your attributes will be improved for completing certain challenges. It is also fun trying to completes these, as it something else to aim for, and a quick way of becoming a better player.
However like every game it is never perfect, and Fifa 10 is no exception to that. The substituted player do not get ratings, so this can get frustrating if you forget to check before making substitutions. The close up graphis doesn't look great and their is a limited amount of cutscenes which are more or less the same as last year, and some player attributes don't prove during matches.
Fifa 10 is fact paced, exciting and very enjoyable and will keep you playing for many, many hours to come.
Good Points: New 360 degree dribbling is excellent, Manager Mode has been greatly improved, Good and true to life weather effects, tremendous amount of teams and fully licensed content, Menu layouts contrast well, New virtual pro is a great new feature, Be a Pro and online are still good.
Bad Points: Substituted players don't get ratings after matches, Close up graphics aren't so great, limited amount of cutscenes, Player attributues are somtimes not true to their stats or real life.
