Incredibly realistic Soccer, and doesn't even compare to Fifa 10! Here's a detailed analysis of FIfa 11.
When I made my first pass of the game after kick off, I knew this game was different. The pass was a horrible one and the reason why was that my defender's momentum made him fall while passing. Then after a dozen or more games, I saw so many situations that required creativity; rather than well timed through balls and the now infamous Ping Pong passes that the skilled players would get used to.
Also, Defense is awesome this time through ! The 360 degree jostling and the ton of new animations really flesh out this soccer game. I couldn't believe what I saw when I tried a Spin move with Theirry Henry only to be knocked on my butt by a large Defense-men while I was in the middle of spinning ! In Fifa 11 , you have to try to muscle the ball in, as well as using finesse passes, and to succeed you really have to make longer passes, and probably across the field too since there is much more open space some times when a defense crowds one player for example. In Fifa 10, pressing was the only way to defend, but not anymore. If you over press, a skilled player will make you pay by threading a pass 20 yards or more !.
Offense is amazing. The passing is really pressure sensitive. You will realize how important a quick, off the ground, laser-like pass can be if used during the right time. The shooting is the same more or less, I think I noticed that you might have to keep the shooting button pressed longer instead a tap like the shooting of Fifa 10's game which would result in a decent shot. Now, in Fifa 11 if you tap the button, your going to just skid the ball along the ground.
So as for the modes, nothing too new, except for the combining of Be a Pro and Manager mode. The Be a Goalie option is a small addition as well. So it's the gameplay that makes this year's edition of Fifa the most realistic ever! So if last year's Fifa 10 was rated a 9, then this year it's more like a 7 when comparing it to Fifa 11, Kudos to EA .
