Fifa 11 is a fun soccer game, but fails to improve on last years fifa 10 and world cup game,
I must admit Fifa 08 on the ps3 was great with all the team licenses and players. The game played a pretty good game of soccer even if there was a delay in controls. Fifa 09 was worse than 08. But Fifa 10 fixed all the problems of the other fifa games setting the benchmark. World cup 2010 with basically the same gameplay added the international teams and a much better shootout control scheme.
Now to fifa 11. I downloaded the demo of this game before it was out and expected big things. Better player custimization, more leagues. But what really sold me was the chance to put your own music in the game! I thought cool! All this was good inclusions, but where the game I feel falls short is the gameplay. Im halfway through manager mode with Liverpool and find every game I play seems the same. The play is very defensive and far to easy to take the ball from your opponent. Also this means its easy for your opponent to take the ball from you. In general gameplay there is also not much space and all the players tend to become very congested! This makes it awkward when trying to decide to whom to pass the ball. The computer AI doesnt seem to position itself in the positions you want to pass to them. Theres no point passing to a team mate who's 2 metres from you! Your team mates wont run forward to recieve the ball. I have tried different strategies to try to spread the team out on the pitch, but to no avail they always become congested! I am not complaining because I cant win. I have not lost yet online in head to head, but I find most games of this a grind. Its still a fun soccer game, but if you have Fifa 10, definately dont trade it on this like I did. Fifa 10 is the better game, although this is still fun.
