A Good welcome back from EA'S fottie franchise

I know what we all love about fifa. The licences, the stadiums, the crowds and the graphics. One nice thing that I liked was the addition of the lower division teams giving you more team varieties. The players look even more alike then ever before. There's also an online mode allowing more fun into the game if you can set up the network adapter into your broadband line. Although I don't have my PS2 online I still managed to enjoy the game.

Another great new addition to this year's fifa is the career mode. It's a mode where you select a team from any division and you then have to manage your team, this includes Sorting out training, dealing with funds and signing new players to build up a successful team. It's possible to start with a team from division 2 or 3 and build them up to premiership standard.Throughout this career mode you can play in things like league cups and the champion's league. The career mode is quite simple and easy to use although the matches are normally challenging.

The off the ball system dose actually work in this game which is a good thing as EA gimmicks usually don't work and will result in people like me giving it something like 4 out of 10.The off the ball works by pressing L2 this will make the camera go higher to view more of your players and you will then move a selected player with the right analogue stick while still controlling the player that has the ball with the left analogue stick or with the D pad. This works well although it is fiddly but once you get the hang of it you can pull of perfect crosses and score great goals. Oh yes scoring goals is not as easy as before like in the previous game as it's harder to break through the defence of the opposition which is a plus in anyone's books

The player A.I has been improved and the graphics look great and it is a much better game then it's predaceous but you can still notice some of the flaws. There are the occasional glitches and the menus are quite slow, but you can still grin and bear those floors. If EA carry on like this they will produce something special for Fifa 2005, let's hope so anyway
