This game is without a doubt the best soccer game I have ever played. The gameplay is pretty realistic but obviously has its flaws. If you have Fifa 04 definitely buy this one since it is a great improvement. One great improvement is the corner kicks, set plays and throw-ins. These allow off the ball control which means you can move a person down the field while you are throwing or kicking. This causes lots of goal-scoring opportunities. I have mastered the corner kicks and can score off a header almost every single time. The improvements in Fifa from one year to the next are so immense that I simply sell my old one and buy the new one. If on the other hand, you do not like soccer, you should not buy the game;because...it is soccer. I have read the other reviews and can tell that some of them do not like soccer. I do not understand why you would buy the game if you even hesitate about loving soccer. This game is the best soccer game out there so buy it and learn to master the crosses (hold L and press X) you can get header goals off unsuspecting keepers.
The graphics could be better and I feel EA Sports should concentrate more on the far away, in-game graphics than silly close-ups of a goal scorer.
As always in games with announcers they can become annoying and repetitive. They also sometimes say things way after they happen and even sometimes say the wrong score.
Overall this game is fantastic and I would recommend it to any soccer fanatic.
