Not quite Final Fantasy, not quite Harvest Moon!

User Rating: 7.5 | Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles: Chiisana Ousama to Yakusoku no Kuni WII
For those who are expecting the stereotypical Final Fantasy will be sorely disappointed. This is not the typical turn based save the world fanfare. This is more of a mix between Harvest Moon and The Sims. First you are the King and what you say, goes. Being King is more like being an accountant for the country than anything. Your job is to rebuild this once great country to its former glory. Sounds simple right, well your right it is simple enough. Hire a few adventurers, post missions, send them on missions to collect and research for your country. While they are out doing your bidding, you can build houses, shops, and schools. Also talking to the local moogles help unlock more building styles. You have to do all this while on the clock. The day does pass pretty quickly so you really have to have a good plan of attack or you find yourself deciding on something, and your assistant Chime pops up and ends the day for you. So fans of Harvest Moon and the Sims will enjoy the building and budgeting aspect of the game.
However, you also have to pay attention to your adventurers. They level up and earn medals while out exploring the dungeons. You also get a chance to boost their stats. Those not familiar with Final Fantasy's stats and what they do may find it hard to boost the right stat for the right job. But the game does a good job informing you on what each stat does. So one can pick up on it rather quickly, but can be confusing at first. The game play is addicting, I found myself playing for hours instead of the few minutes I wanted to. The character designs are cute and well done. The development of the characters is minimal. So don't look for a Final Fantasy sized story or character build. Over all it is a colourful and addictive game. So if you're a fan of simulation games and want a little RPG element to it, then by all means download it. If you're looking for a hard core or light FF game, then pass it offers no real RPG experience.
