As excited as I was about the game I am a little dissapointed. When I got the game I figured I could at least play 2 player, coz my bro's got a GBA, guess I shoulda paid more attention to detail. It's an absolute f**king scam to have all those GBA's to play multi. Looking at it, you're buying a game that cost money to play, (literally.) I knew I wouldn't have anyone that would want to learn and play the game with me, besides my gf. So I can't b*tch about the money. But that's another $50 - $100 if I wanna get a GBA so she can play two. And now she can't play with me, so we take turns. (Ain't that a b*tch) Don't get me wrong, I absolutely love the game, graphically it's beautiful and I love the music. The single play is good but, I'm a little confused about something, and I'm wondering if this confuses anyone else. Playing single player you can only play as one character at a time while you need eight chracters to fill your town with shops and what not. Although I'm only on year 2, I'm wondering how I'm going to manage leveling up 8 characters enough to handle the last year which I've come to understand is year 3, (correct me if I'm wrong.) And I know you can replay beaten areas and kill the boss to get artifacts over and over, but you can only send/recieve letters from your family after the myrrh is collected, thus disabling the give/get family relations to alot of your characters. Plus your town can only survive so long without new drops. So far I got 4 chracters going coz I got sick of the moogles "there's no one home" response. So I get confused on which character to choose to get the new drop of myrrh. And the journal stays the same no matter who you pick. It's these odd little things that bug me, but I still look forward to playing through the game. I just hope it's a long game and won't get old having to replay all the levels already beaten to get stat boosts as well as new drops every few years. All in all, it's got it's pros and cons like everythings got. Theres good and bad in single play and looks like a ditto for multiplay mode, tho I'm looking forward to getting ahold of another GBA to try out that multiplayer. I highly recommend it, great game with all the odd's any other game has. But it's hard getting past the hardware gimmick for multiplay, looks like theres a definite corporation profit thing they were shooting for here. I mean come on, pause and BLAM! theres you're menus, we don't need em' in our hands. Having to look down at the controller all the time would make me feel young again, when I didn't know where the buttons were. I look at my gamecube and those 4 little holes and I wonder what am I paying for. I even bought a Gameboy Player for my gamecube last month so I could play my bro's GBA games. Irony......... So the lonely road of an RPG goes. Now I must embark with nothing else but a moogle. Which has a seriously "keeping up" defiency and loves to sit and watch when a boss tears me a new one.
