Great game, but not without its flaws

User Rating: 8.5 | Final Fantasy II PSP
Final Fantasy II is a great game with little details that we could have done without. Its nice to see a original game remade without killing the game.
The biggest flaw is the leveling system. Instead of leveling by level, your character gradually gets stronger and skills go up depending on what weapon you are using or what magic you use. So if you decide to change someones weapons, you have to make sure that they have decent skill with the weapn or you will have to start over and improve their skill from the beginning. Its a good concept, but this was the wrong game to use it in. The other, i wont say flaw, but gets old fast, are the frequent battles. There are just too many, it makes going through the dungeons more of a chore with the battle every 5 to 10 seconds.

On a better note, the improved 2D graphics look great and the sound quality is pretty good. Other than the continuous battles, the game is worth taking a look at if you are a Final Fantasy fan.
