Wicked!

Final Fantasy 2 for SNES was by far my favorite game of that generation. At the time that it was released, I was 15 years old, and the story was truly epic. I would sit in school and crave going home to play (and not do my homework or study). I didn't even realize that this new installment had been released, and it was by chance that I found out about it. After downloading it and playing through the first 2 hours or so, I have to say that Matrix Software nailed it. The visuals are nearly identical to the original game, and they make me feel like a 15 year-old all over again. The music, which blew me away when I was younger, is also nearly identical. I almost cried when I heard the dungeon music. Even most of the enemies during random battles look the same, attack the same way, and have the same strengths/weaknesses.
It might end up being a tad expensive to get all of the DLC, but I don't really care. They could do this type of thing for the original SNES Final Fantasy 3 and I would eat that up too. That one was just as exciting as this, but I just liked this story better.
If you're looking for a cutting-edge RPG to be challenged with, look somewhere else. But if you were playing Final Fantasy back in 1991 and you loved the story of Cecil, Rosa, Rydia and the rest, this full-blown sequel is truly a dream come true.
Thanks to Square Enix for the idea and Matrix Software for staying faithful to the original visuals and music. This game is perfection manifested as DLC!
