Nostalgia like a freight train.
The transition is quite nice, with the graphics, cut scenes, and battles all much sharper than even their SNES versions. There's some new stuff in here too... shh... keep it on the low. Short comings are the same as the original. Overly high encounter rate ("Whew what a battle" *warp warp* "#*%($"), weird scrolling map, not much in the way of continuity among your characters, but all of these are minor stabs at a tremendous storyline, which is what really propels this game. You'll find yourself coming back over and over just to see what happens next in the epic adventure.
