Yet another great installment to the FF series
The gameplay is just like other FF games, in which you travel around towns, and go from place to place on the world map. Newbies to the FF world will have no problem jumping into this one, because it isn’t tied to any of the others in any major way.
Graphically is a little more cartoonish than the other FF games, but this does not detract from it, and once used to it, it actually seems to fit the game better than any style of graphics.
Combat is turn based, just like the other FF games, but in this one instead of the usual 3 characters battling, you are allowed to use 4 in each battle. Just like other FF this game centers around melee combat and magic. Melee combat the characters strike opponents with whatever weapon they have equipped, these include swords, lances, and one special character even uses giant forks. Also there is magic, which is mainly such things as attacking opponents with fire, or using cure magic.
Characters also have special abilities that can be used. These abilities are acquired from equipping weapons and armor that have abilities on them, and then getting AP to master them so that you have these abilities even when you equip a different piece of weaponry or armor. To equip these abilities, you place orbs that each character has, and each ability takes a certain amount of these orbs (as you level up you will receive more orbs to use), and you can equip as many as you want so long as you have the orbs to equip it. Equipping these isn’t permanent, so there isn’t any worrying, you can switch it over as much as you want.
This is a wonderful addition to the FF series, and definitely worth a play through if you like the FF series, or are just looking for a good game to play
